Cast Iron Cookery | Farm Folk Weekend

Curious about how to better your cast iron cooking skills? Or maybe you've been nervous to ever use cast iron before. All skill levels are welcome to join Farmer Aubrey in exploring cast iron cooking techniques. We will cook everything from greens to cornbread during our sessions, while also trying out cooking over the open fire! Come geared up with creative ideas and get ready to taste some delicious food made by your own hands.

Class Level: Multi-Level

Required Class Materials: Clothes Toed Shoes and a Water Bottle. 

Aubrey Gallegos has a myriad of experiences working for sailing ships, sheep farms, and now McDowell Farm School as Livestock Educator. Her interests don't stop there however, as she can often be found testing out new recipes in the kitchen. Aubrey has taught all levels of cooks from 1st Graders to the AFS Breadmaking session this Spring. She is excited to guide people through cast iron cookery, while also using her creativity to try old styles of cooking over open flames.
