Introduction to the Sport of Fly Fishing: You won’t wrap the line around your neck…and if you do, its OK!

This class intends to take the student through a hands-on introduction to various aspects of fly fishing. Class will begin with creating a good foundation through an understanding of fly fishing terminology and equipment. Time will be spent learning to present flies to fish using various casting techniques. An examination of the environment will be used to determine what foods the fish are eating and what flies might be used to imitate that food. The students will be  instructed in fly tying and complete the process of tying their own flies. The culmination of the course will be a period of fishing in order to apply all the skills and techniques gained through the weekend.

Class Level: Beginner/Novice, Multi-Level
