Jason Bailey is a staggeringly-gifted mandolinist, a talent that’s put him in a leadership role in a dozen different musical enterprises, from bluegrass to celtic to roots to jazz, and led to the creation of four outstanding CDs of original work.
— Keith Harrelson, Moonlight on the Mountain

As a mandolinist, composer, teacher, and studio musician, Jason Bailey possesses the range of musicianship expected from a well-seasoned professional. Bailey has twice been a feature artist on WBHM’s Tapestry for his solo recordings, Southwood and September in the South. In addition, all of his albums have been a feature for the online magazine, MandolinCafé.com. In 2007 Bailey was nominated for the Birmingham Area Music Awards in the category of best Country/Bluegrass/Americana artist.  He has been a guest at Birmingham's City Stages and Do Dah Day, Mobile's Bayfest, Georgia's Little Turnip Town Overnight Music Jam, and The Acoustic Café in Hayden, Alabama to name a few.  Bailey has also collaborated in studio and on stage with artists like Matt Flinner, Andy Leftwich, Cody Kilby, Scott Vestal, Pat Bergeson, John Cowan, Barry Waldrep, Sally Barris and his own Jason Bailey Band featuring Bailey's original compositions of jazz-celto-avant-grass, re-arranged covers and standards, and most importantly his love for acoustic music.
