Ukulele - Old Time | Oct 12-Oct 15, 2017

Instructor: Aaron Keim

($240 tuition + $107-397 lodging & meals package of choice)

Join Aaron as you learn the basic skills and concepts you need to make music with others, learn songs and have fun with your ukulele. We will work on strumming patterns, fingerpicking, melodies, clawhammer, and even a little music theory. Our foundation for these concepts will be the repertoire of old time folk music, bluegrass, blues and gospel.

Class Prerequisite: Students should be able to tune their instrument, know eight or more basic chords and be able to switch between them at a medium tempo.   

Required Class Materials: Students should bring a ukulele, tuner, pencil, and paper.

Class Level: Multi-Level

No stranger to the acoustic music world, Aaron Keim has been teaching ukulele and banjo techniques and performing at festivals since 2004. As an educator with a bachelor's degree in Music Education and a master's degree in Music History, his true talents lie in his ability to adapt instruction to fit a wide range of learners and learning styles. He performs in a duo with his wife Nicole, The Quiet American. Aaron is also a luthier, building instruments for Mya-Moe ukuleles and Beansprout banjos.  More information on Aaron can be found at
